Morris Jeff Community School offers a quality, challenging education as an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. Morris Jeff is the ONLY school in Louisiana to offer all three International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes – Primary Years (PYP), Middle Years (MYP), and Diploma (DP). The PYP and MYP build academic, social and learning skills in our students to prepare them for the challenge of the IB Diploma. Students begin learning a foreign language every day in Pre-K, and use their internationally-minded skills to tackle capstone projects in Grades 5, 8, and 10. Reflection and action are the pillars of academic growth and character development of our learners.

Morris Jeff juniors and seniors can pursue the full IB Diploma. To earn the internationally-recognized Diploma, students must pass 7 courses in different subjects (including foreign language), write a 4,000 word research paper on a topic of their interest, and complete extracurricular hours dedicated to Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS). Universities look favorably at IB students. Research shows that students with IB diplomas graduate earlier than their peers and maintain higher GPA’s than non-IB students.

The IB Learner Profile describes a broad range of attributes that embrace a holistic approach to education and support all members of the school community in developing respect for themselves, others, and the world around them. IB students develop as: Inquirers, Knowledgeable, Thinkers, Communicators, Principled, Open-minded, Caring, Risk-takers, Balanced, and Reflective. These are our school values.
