As an International Baccalaureate World School, Morris Jeff Community School offers the Primary Years Programme (PYP) to students in PreK through Grade 5). The PYP encourages the natural curiosity of children and ties subject matter together in a meaningful, applicable manner through inquiry. Faculty at Morris Jeff has developed cross-disciplinary units of study which allow students to form connections across the subjects. Along with the standard core subjects of Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies, students receive instruction in Spanish and the Arts daily. The framework of the PYP allows all students to participate in research, independent and small group projects, and presentations, culminating with the Exhibition at the end of students’ fifth-grade year.

Community Morning Meeting

Every week, families are welcome to attend Community Morning Meeting for songs, announcements, and celebrations of PYP Students of the Week.

  • 3rd-5th grade has Community Morning Meeting on Mondays
  • 1st-2nd grade has Community Morning Meeting on Tuesdays

Community Morning Meeting begins promptly at 8:30 AM in the Lopez gym and lasts for about 10 minutes. Parents/families enter through the parking lot gate with their students, up the playground ramp, and through the doors closest to the gym. Students sit with their classes and families sit in a designated area. Families exit the building through the rear gym doors onto Palmyra Street at the end of Morning Meeting.
