LEAP tests measure proficiency in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies for Grades 3-8. In high school, students take a LEAP test at the end of the following courses: English I and II, Algebra I, Geometry, Biology, US History, and Civics. This year all 3-8 tests in Social Studies and the high school Civics test are considered a Field Test. Families and schools will not receive scores for these tests, but students must complete the tests as usual.
The Louisiana Department of Education offers these guides for families to understand the LEAP tests required of Louisiana public school students.
