The 10-year School Facilities Preservation Millage to help maintain public school buildings will expire in 2024. A RENEWAL is needed to maintain major systems including HVAC systems, roof repairs, and window replacements. It will be decided by voters on October 14th.

In 2014, the School Facility Preservation millage was implemented in response to the impact of Hurricane Katrina. The OPSB made significant investments in rebuilding and restoring schools with the support of FEMA. Voters approved a facilities preservation millage in December 2014. The millage renewal in 2014 was a 10-year millage and this renewal request is for a 20-year period (2025-2045).
