Morris Jeff Community School will celebrate its Third Annual Commencement on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Franklin Avenue Baptist Church. The Class of 2023 consists of 110 seniors anticipating graduation.
We are excited to announce that this year’s Commencement Address will be delivered by local filmmaker and director Edward Buckles. Buckles is a native New Orleanian whose most recent accomplishment is the writing and producing of Katrina Babies, a powerful story of children in New Orleans during and after Hurricane Katrina.
Graduates must arrive by 9:00 AM. Each graduate is allowed 10 guests for the ceremony. Tickets are distributed at Graduation Rehearsal.

Class of 2023 Awards Ceremony
Morris Jeff students, staff, and families are invited to attend this event to recognize and celebrate the achievements and accomplishments of our graduating seniors, the Class of 2023. All Grade 12 students are expected to attend the Class of 2023 Awards Ceremony. Note: This event was formerly called the Senior Baccalaureate Ceremony.

Graduation Rehearsal
All graduates are expected to attend the graduation rehearsal.
- Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at 9:30 am
- Franklin Avenue Baptist Church, 8181 Lake Forest Boulevard, 70126
- Graduates will receive their cap and gown. Jostens will be on-site to address any sizing concerns.
- Graduates will experience a video screening of the documentary, Katrina Babies, written and directed by New Orleanian Edward Buckles, the Class of 2023 Commencement Speaker.
