Dear Morris Jeff Families,

We received word from NOLA Public Schools this afternoon that the current metrics for COVID cases in our city make it necessary for all its schools and students to transition to distance learning until at least January 21All schools are required to operate in distance learning by Thursday, January 7.

Morris Jeff students will report to school tomorrow, Tuesday, per the usual schedule. PK-4th grade students will be issued devices for distance learning tomorrow. If your child needs a device for distance learning, please alert your child’s teacher to ensure they receive one.

All in-person extracurricular activities are suspended, including middle school sports. Decisions about high school athletics are pending further notice.

We are all sad to witness this transition for our students and hope this is a short-lived period where all of our citizens will take the necessary precautions to bring down our COVID numbers so our students can be safely back in school very soon. New Orleanians have rallied before and I believe we can do it again for the sake of our children.

Sincerely,

Patricia Perkins
Head of School
