Elementary School
We are thrilled to bring back our beginning-of-the-year Goal-Setting Conferences in person. On Friday, September 16, there is no school for students. Instead, elementary parents/families and their student(s) attend a Goal-Setting Conference in the classroom with the student’s teacher. The purpose of this 15-minute conference is to collaborate to identify the student’s strengths and areas for growth this school year. Parents/families, teachers, and students work together to set goals for academics and the development of the IB Learner Profile. Students attend the conference with their parent/families.
After Labor Day, families can expect information from the student’s teacher to set up an appointment for their conference on September 16.
Goal-setting conferences are not report card or behavior conferences. Report card conferences will be on October 26. Families are welcome to call the front office or email teachers directly to arrange conferences related to academic or behavioral progress.
Middle School
On Friday, September 16, there is no school for students. Instead, families and their student(s) will come to a required 30-minute conference to complete a Student Led Conference. The purpose of Student-Led Conferences at the beginning of the year is for students to be able to communicate their long-term aspirations and their goals for the 2022-23 school year. Progress towards goals set in Student Led Conferences will be monitored each quarter and reflected upon at the end-of-year Student Led Conference in May. During the conference, families and advisors will learn more about their students which will help with guidance throughout the school year. Starting September 7, families will be called by the staff member that will lead the student-led conference via phone to arrange a specific time on September 16. Middle school parents/families should complete and bring this form to the conference.
Student-Led conferences are not report card or behavior conferences. Report card conferences will be on October 26. Families are welcome to call the front office or email teachers directly to arrange conferences related to academic or behavioral progress.
