Morris Jeff Community School is now part of the Amazon Future Engineer program and will start offering computer science classes to MYP Design students in Grades 6-8 this Fall. Morris Jeff is one of more than 1,000 middle schools in America participating in this national program aimed at making computer science accessible to all students. The curriculum provided by Project STEM encompasses a 3-year computer science course sequence starting in 21-22 with Fundamentals in Scratch, based on the MyCS curriculum. Courses in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and CS and Creative Media will be released in subsequent years.
Morris Jeff is excited about our partnership with Amazon and to have Mr. Pauzolis, an experienced coding teacher, teach our Design Course. Through this curriculum, our students will develop the IB Learner Profile traits of Thinkers and Knowledgeable. Students will build their knowledge and skills in coding, preparing them for the careers of the future.
