In partnership with the Louisiana Department of Health, Morris Jeff Community School is offering weekly COVID-19 testing at school at each camus. We encourage all families to register their student. Weekly testing allows us to minimize class quarantines and stay ahead of the virus’s spread at school.
A parent or legal guardian must register any minor under 18 years old and will be asked to complete a one-time consent and HIPAA authorization form in order for the test results to be shared with the school and district.
Registration is open now!
Testing is voluntary, yet, may be required, but highly encouraged to keep our school community safe. The testing performed will be non-invasive anterior nasal PCR testing.
Morris Jeff tests weekly per the school’s dedicated schedule.
- Tuesdays, Middle School, 2733 Esplanade
- Wednesdays, High School, 1301 N. Derbigny
- Wednesdays, Elementary School, 211 S. Lopez
Test results are delivered to families by text or email within 24 hours and the Omega Diagnostics team will follow up with the parent directly if your child has a positive result.
Incentives! All students and staff are eligible to sign up for incentives for participating in weekly testing. The first incentive is $25 for the first test and $10 for each subsequent weekly test. Incentives will be electronically delivered to families at the end of October. The initial payment will be retroactive and include all incentives for testing up until then.
