These five elements are included in each unit of inquiry:
Knowledge: This is the significant and relevant content that students will learn within each of the six transdisciplinary units. Louisiana state standards from multiple subject areas are included in all of our IB units.
Concepts: Concepts are overarching ideas that both transcend and connect subject areas. These concepts provide a base for extending understanding and encourage critical thinking.
Transdisciplinary Skills: Students use a variety of skills for learning, in the IB framework they are arranged into five areas: thinking skills, social skills, communication skills, research skills, and self-management skills.
Attitudes: These are dispositions that we encourage students to show towards learning, the environment, and other people. They include creativity, confidence, curiosity and tolerance.
Action: During and after learning, students are encouraged to reflect on their learning and choose an action based on what they have learned.
