What kind of school is Morris Jeff?

Morris Jeff Community School is an open-access public school that received its charter approval in October 2009. It is a Type 5 public charter school. No testing is required for admission.


Where is Morris Jeff located?

The elementary (Pre-K through 5th grade) and middle (Grades 6-8) schools are located at 211 S. Lopez, New Orleans, LA 70119. We refer to this campus as the Lopez campus. In the fall of 2021, our middle school will be located at 2733 Esplanade Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70119. The elementary school will remain at the Lopez campus.

Our high school (Grades 9-12) is located at 1301 N. Derbigny, New Orleans, LA 70116. We refer to this campus as the Clark campus, since it was the home of the historic Joseph S. Clark High School.


Which grade levels does Morris Jeff offer?

Morris Jeff currently offers grades PreK (4 years) through Grade 12. We graduate our first class of 80 students in May 2021.


What type of curriculum does the school offer?

Our school offers the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) curriculum framework in ALL grades. Morris Jeff is the only PK-12 school that is authorized to offer all 3 IB academic programmes. These include world languages, the arts, physical education, global awareness, the celebration of diversity, along with core academics.


Which world language is offered?

Spanish language is a part of every child’s learning in all grades. In high school, both French and Spanish are offered.
