Per the MJCS Reopening Plan (In-Person Learning, Phase 2) — The Explorers Program will not operate until further notice. We plan to establish our regular school day program as our first priority.
Typically, Morris Jeff Community School offers a before and after school program called Explorers for elementary students in Pre-K through 5th grade. Before care begins on school days at 7:00 AM. After care programs run until 6:00 PM. Morris Jeff partners with Young Audiences to provide artistic enrichment instruction for the Explorers Program after school in areas of visual and performing arts.
All students attending the program are required to register. Annual registration fee is $40 per family per school year. For After Care, the fee is $60 per student a week or $100 per week for a family of 2 to 5 children. These fees are charged monthly through Smart Charters based on active enrollment and are not charged on a daily attendance basis. Once a student or family is enrolled, they will be charged monthly based on weeks per month. Termination of an explorer contract must be submitted in writing to Ms. Bridges by the 5th day of the month in order to not be charged for the month of cancellation. Parents are responsible for all charges posted prior to the submission of cancellation.
Morris Jeff Community School Explorers Program does not offer drop-in services. It is imperative that we get an accurate count of the number of students participating in the Explorers program in order to adequately staff our classes.
