Morris Jeff Community School (MJCS) recognizes that the LA Department of Education (LDOE) defines gifted students as those who demonstrate abilities that give evidence of high performance in academic and intellectual aptitude. In addition, the LDOE defines talented students as those possessing measurable abilities that give clear evidence of unique talent in visual or performing arts or both. MJCS screens students annually every spring to determine eligibility for gifted and/or talented services.
A list of criteria for eligibility, referral process, and an explanation of the evaluation process are available at the school and on the LDOE website HERE and HERE.
